Meet the Doctors of Montgomery Chiropractic

You've probably heard the saying, "Two heads are better than one." We've taken that to heart at Montgomery Chiropractic. With two chiropractors on staff, you get the benefit of extra brainpower. Especially with difficult cases.

Introducing Belton Chiropractor Dr. Larry Montgomery

Belton, Texas Chiropractor, Dr. Larry Montgomery
"I can still remember being placed on a piece of plywood in the backseat of our family car and my dad driving me to my first chiropractic appointment, even though I was just three years old!"

"I had been on medication for several days with a "crick" in my neck, so severe, that any movement made me cry out in pain! Finally, my father put me in the back seat of the old Mercury (with the plywood underneath me) and we began the 30 mile drive to the chiropractor. While that was my first visit, it was not to be my last. A knee injury before my senior year in high school resulted in a local health professional telling me, "I don't know what is causing that popping sound in your knee, but we could 'open it up and see'....! That report scared me back in to a chiropractic office. I knew football and most likely my senior year of sports was over if I had the surgery. Three days later, after consulting a chiropractor, I was back out on the field, kicking field goals, and to this day, have never required knee surgery."

After graduating from Belton High School, Dr. Montgomery enrolled in Central Texas College's highly regarded Broadcast Journalism program, intent on becoming the next "Frank Gifford". One day after class, Dr. Montgomery was in his chiropractor's (Dr. Sidney Isdale of Killeen) office receiving an adjustment, when Dr. Sidney asked, "When are you going to stop messing around and enroll in Chiropractic College." He asked that question at just the right time. Dr. Montgomery transfered to San Jacinto College in Pasadena which has a cooperative program with Texas Chiropractic College. After persuading the admissions officer of Texas Chiropractic College to allow him to begin classes in August of 1977, Dr. Montgomery completed back to back semesters of 30 and 32 hours (while attending Texas Chiropractic College and San Jacinto College concurrently) , to help him finish the normal seven year program in only five and one-half years. After graduating from TCC on May 16, 1981, Dr. Montgomery returned to Belton and worked in the Isdale Chiropractic Clinics in Killeen and Temple while awaiting licensure from the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Montgomery then opened his practice in Belton on September 21, 1981.

Dr. Montgomery subsequently completed the 300 hour Orthopedic Diplomate program and Texas Chiropractic College in 1987. In the interim, Dr. Montgomery has achieved Diplomate status in the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Academy of Disability Analyst. Additionally, he is a TIRSAT certified doctor for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission and holds a "Master's Certificate" in the management of Whiplash injuries from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.

The motto of Montgomery Chiropractic is, "The World Revolves Around Your Spine". This encompasses the philosophy of our clinic. No matter the activity you are attempting to be involved in, the messages sent from the brain through the spine will determine your ability to accomplish that task.

Whether working with athletes of Central Texas' professional hockey or football teams, to the growing geriatric population of our nation, the doctors of Montgomery Chiropractic strive to communicate the primary importance of the spine in every activity. The most common cases seen at Montgomery Chiropractic are the "Big Four"; 1) Headaches, 2) Lower Back Pain, 3) Arm and Leg Pain and 4) Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Yet, we see the miracle cases of Chiropractic every day. It is tremendously satisfying when one of our patients came to us stating that her medical doctor was vastly reducing her thyroid medication, because after two months of Chiropractic care, her thyroid was beginning to function properly, again! Perhaps the most rewarding case for Dr. Montgomery, was when one of his high school teachers brought in her 18 month old grandson. This little boy had suffered from more than 30 ear infections with an equal number of rounds of antibiotics, in addition to his "asthma". Since the toddler's 8th adjustment, he has only experienced two ear infections and three asthma attacks. He is now in the third grade!!! What a change has been seen in his appetite, athleticism and quality of life, since Chiropractic was introduced into his life.

While we love the children, the senior adults add a new dimension of life to the practice. What a thrill to see them return to the activities they had given up due to thinking it was "arthritis", "old age" or "just their nerves"! These terms are often just used when the real problem has not yet been found! The seniors of Montgomery Chiropractic are active and alive with the zest of life our creator intended!

Dr. Larry Asks some important questions of interest to Belton residents - Chiropractor Belton Dr. Larry Asks...

How do chiropractors help ADHD?
There is agreement that ADHD is a nervous system disorder. And while chiropractic isn't a treatment for ADHD, if your child has vertebral subluxation complexes, resolving them will often produce profound results. Click here to learn why more and more Belton parents are choosing natural chiropractic care rather than dangerous psychotropic drugs.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
